Mentoring

This semester has been chock full of ups and downs.
Unfortunatley, one of the lower moments came out in a meeting
with Wei-Ning.
My boyfriend Collin is part of a fraternity in Philadelphia. One
of his brothers, Aaron, was accused of rape. Honestly, I was shocked
at first, but that soon turned to anger. I wasn't angry that he had
done it because I couldn't force myself to believe he had. I wasn't
angry with her for the accusation that could ruin his academic
reputation. I was angry that such a sweet person could be in a
situation where such dumb and awful decisons could have been
made. I was upset both because I knew him and because I could see how
much it was upsetting Collin. During my meeting, I ranted and explained it all to Wei-Ning.
She couldn't have handled the situation any better. She asked how I was doing and listened to me rant. At our last meeting, she checked in on the situation and asked how everything had progressed. Throughout the semester I've really appreciated the level of compassion I've been shown.
